Founded in Flint, Wales, we are proud to be the trusted supplier of high-performance adhesives and coatings, custom-tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
We offer a wide range of adhesives and coatings globally. Our portfolio includes lamination and packaging adhesives for both film and paper, high performance barrier coatings as well as specialised tape and label adhesives.
In response to the growing demand for eco-friendly solutions, we have developed compostable water-based laminating adhesives and heat seal coatings that meet EN 13432 standards. These innovative products can be customised to suit your specific machinery, substrates, end-use conditions, and regulatory requirements.

Stewart Selbie
Managing Director
Stewart joined Scitech in 2017 as a Technical Manager before taking on the role of Managing Director in 2024. Stewart is passionate about Environmental sciences and holds a BSc in Environmental Chemistry and an MSc in Green Chemistry and Sustainable Industrial Technology.
As Managing Director, Stewart oversees the commercial performance of Scitech and plays a key role in supporting customers, including driving new product development and addressing ongoing technical inquiries.

Trevor Jones
R&D Director
As an experienced Industrial Chemist Trevor co-founded Scitech in 2002. His extensive knowledge spans diverse chemistries and industrial processes, with a particular focus on water-based adhesives and coatings.
As the R&D Director, Trevor is at the forefront of innovation, driving the development of novel technologies and new products that meet the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. His leadership is key to ensuring that Scitech remains at the forefront of sustainable industrial advancements.

Steve Jones
Operations Director
Steve has expertise across a wide range of operational areas, built over a 30 year career in the manufacturing sector. Steve joined Scitech in 2010 and took on the role of Operations Director in 2024.
Steve oversees all aspects of product manufacturing, including quality assurance, health and safety, and the maintenance of our ISO9001 accreditation. He is also dedicated to driving process improvements and ensuring effective site maintenance, ensuring that Scitech’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Matt Jones
Works Director
Matt joined Scitech as an engineer and was instrumental in constructing the plant in 2003 and was appointed as Works Director in 2024.
Qualified in International Trade for Import and Export, Matt oversees production planning, manages supplier relationships, reviews product costs, and coordinates the global dispatch of goods, ensuring Scitech’s operations remain efficient and globally competitive.

Our Technical Services
We are able to offer a great technical service and can advise appropriate substitutes to existing products through extensive assessment in our laboratories. Scitech’s chemists have vast experience and have acquired a wealth of knowledge in a variety of different markets and applications.
As part of our bespoke service we can tailor our products and develop new solutions to run effectively on your machinery and give the desired performance for your chosen application.

Our History
2002 - Scitech Adhesive Systems Ltd was founded by 2 industrial chemists Trevor Jones and Alan Simpson.
2004 - Scitech’s business grew with the development of a range of protective coatings for passport covers, high quality books and religious texts.
2006 - Awarded a government funded SMART award for ‘Enhanced Security Features for Passport Cover’.
2010 - Developed the world first compostable laminating adhesive for compostable films derived from renewable resources, world first verified by OWS (Organic Waste Systems n.v.)
2016 – Awarded 3 Innovate UK grants to develop antibacterial coatings for biobased food packaging.
2020 - Developed a compostable heat seal coating for paper, paperboard and compostable films. Independently tested at OWS to EN13432.
2024 – Completed a management buyout by the current management team and co-founder Trevor Jones. Awarded the RSC Innovation Through Partnership Prize with Pulpex and BASF.
